I’ve been out for awhile. I was not able to commit with my “every Tuesday new blogpost”. What a shame. 🙂 Anyway, life happens.
So here’s my short realization about attempting to start a youtube channel. I posted this video last week (July 8,2019)
This is about my journey on how did I get rid of my algae on my anubias plants in my fish tank. If you are a fish tank owner, you know that getting rid of algae in your tank is not an easy task. Especially if the plants inside your tank are real, not plastics. You buy these plants a little expensive than a regular plant. Then you will notice algae are growing on them. How would you react? I value my fish tank because I invested money, time and hard work on it. So my initial reaction on it would be desperation to get rid of those algae.
It takes me more than a month to get rid of it. I was so happy when I did it. So I decided to make a video so I can help some fish tank owners who are dealing with the same problem.
So I decided to share my video on a Facebook Page that is only for fish tank owners, because I can see a lot of people asking for help with regards algae on their fish tank. However, I made sure to include in my video to mention that “I AM NOT A PRO”.
I was so excited that somebody responded right away with a two paragraph comment. Unfortunately, that comment burst my bubble. The guy wrote in his comment that my video is “very misleading” he said it twice. Wow, I thought I am making the video to help others. It is not really my intention to share misleading and inaccurate information. That comment definitely gives me total self doubt. Do I still need to do videos about fish tank care? Can I still share my stories?
I decided to leave it that way, keep my video there in facebook. I wrote in my post, “If most of you guys think my post is misleading, please let me know. I will take the video down.”
Now I can still see a lot of people asking for help regarding that topic. However, I am so hesitant to share my video. My intentions were good, but the reception to my audience is bad. They are probably thinking that it is a sales pitch, or a self promotion act to get subscriber.
Anyway, this is just a simple rant that I would like to share in my blog. I always tell myself, good or bad publicity – still a publicity. Now I have this funny thought of changing my channel name to a “Very Misleading Youtube Channel” lol
Don’t mind me guys, have a an awesome day ahead of you. 🙂
