I Hate My New Toothbrush

Yes you read it right, I hate my new toothbrush. My husband bought this toothbrush, and I don’t like it. They are so abrasive. Sometimes it hurts my gum.  However I am still using it, because it does really do the job. After using it I can feel that my teeth is surprisingly fresh and clean, better than the old one. Feels like I just had a dental appointment.

My new toothbrush reminds me of some people in my life that are abrasive, but impossible for me to get rid of. I will not trade them for anything in this world. I am pertaining to these people that I know and love that are brutally honest or frank. They are the ones that will tell you things that may hurt you, because “reality bites”.

These people will give you their honest opinion, with the objective of helping you see the bitter truth. They don’t say things just to make fun of you. They say ugly things about you so you will become a better version of yourself. I would rather have them than to have somebody sugar coating things, and making me believe that I am doing great when in fact I suck.

I am very lucky for having these people in my life, to be specific – my family and that includes my husband. They are my worst critic. Having them around me keeps me grounded and realistic. Because of them I have a realistic perception of myself. Because of them I am not delusional when it comes to my singing voice. Because of them I know that no one will ever make fun of me for being a swagger.

As the old cliche goes “truth hurts, but it will set you free”. If you have these people around you, don’t hate them. Love them!

    Aw, Bestie, I can’t view the video it said it’s not available in my country, hope I haven’t missed too much and great post. I agree, I would rather people be brutally honest with me than people just telling me what I want to hear. It saves so much disappoint in the long run. Love❤from your Bestie.

    This is a great message you delivered through a toothbrush! Well about me I know what you mean and I appreciate people like you who appreciates honesty because many people will claim that they want people to be “brutally honest”with them while they can’t handle the truth! I believe you , you are honest but many from those who will agree with you, are not! Anyway, people show their true colors in certain occasions so they don’t hide for a long time…

      Thanks Huguette for spending time to read. And always I love interacting with you 🙂 a lot of people are saying that they can’t see the video. It’s a song, i will fix it and will let u know. It’s a good relaxing song. Yes you are right not everybody can be frank, because it is not easy. Even me it is hard for me to be brutally honest, but I dont tolerate, I dont make people believe they are this amazingly good when infact they are okay 🙂 but i believe in what you said, there are instances that triggers them and push them to be honest like it leaves them without a choice. 🙂

        I’m okay as long as the person admits and not claim what they’re not especially when you know how this persons acts and their reality…And by the way it’s not necessary to be brutally honest at all, you can just be honest and not saying any bullshit to people as you said…it’s enough I guess especially with people we don’t really know…

        Huguette, you worded this perfectly! I couldn’t agree more 😌 Some people cannot handle the truth and get really upset if you tell them the truth. I’ve made the mistake of being brutally honest which someone who wanted the truth, and then she got really mad at me. So now I feel like I’m stepping on eggshells around certain people afraid of hurting their feelings with my objectivity but in this way, I’m not being my authentic self. I feel more fake than anything because often times I have to keep my mouth shut or find words that don’t truly express what I really think, knowing that they won’t like what I have to say.

        Thank you Hilary 😊 appreciate your kind words! I really have a big problem with those who pretend they crave honesty and hate lies and when you tell them the truth, they hate you! In your case, if she wanted the truth and couldn’t accept it, then she’s an hypocrite and doesn’t deserve the truth anyway!
        Don’t live stepping on eggshells and don’t be brutally honest, just make a balance and follow your gut who deserves your brutal honesty and who’s not, doesn’t mean you have to lie, you can not say everything that’s it and the person who asks you for the truth is responsible 💯 about the results of this question
        But you can still be honesty and direct in your life and those who mind, let them leave, being true to yourself is everything

        This is soo true Hilary, sometimes you have to play along in some special situations. I have to do this especially at the work place because I work in a customer service related field. And you know what I mean, it’s more on pleasing the client than being true to myself: ;(

        Oh yes I totally agree with what you said. 🙂 🙂 People sometimes say things just to make them look cool or something. It’s kinda funny, but most of us behaves that way. I am happy that you like this post, I fixed the video I hope you can play it now and enjoy the music

        well last week I couldn’t go also and I only have Saturday and Sunday, and if I should request days off, I should inform them one week or more before…I don’t know if this weekend will work, you know it doesn’t work some days for some friends so we need to cancel 🙂 hope your week will be great!

      Thank you so much Wendy!! I really love that song too.. I’m glad you like it. You are a lucky wife. I find it really helpful when some people gives me an honest opinion no matter if it’s the same with my opinion, but it kinda makes me think twice before making the final decision.
